The Power Behind the Sylvan Mirage
All of our pontoons come equipped with a Yamaha outboard motor. We choose Yamaha because they produce the best quality outboards and even have a design for saltwater. These motors never break, so you’ll only have to see us for maintenance. The 8522 Mirage in particular has a Yamaha 150 and pushes it along really nicely with top speeds in the mid-30’s.
The transom on this boat has a full walk-across platform with a removable tow-bar and stainless steel 4-step boarding ladder. Walking into the main area, you can easily contain the dogs and kiddos with the hinged safety gate.
Functional Layout
One thing we love about Sylvan Pontoons is their functional layout and engineering of its features. The CLZ layout includes the convertible lounge seating with thick, comfortable upholstery throughout the entire boat. Underneath all of those comfy seats is ample storage for your tubes, towels and coolers for a fun day on the water. Unlike other pontoons, this Mirage moved the changing space to the bow storage so you gain more storage for your fun items in the transom.
Also in the bow, you’ll find two full-sized chaise lounges with a high pillow-top backrest and two cup holders per chair! All of the seats in the 8522 Mirage are Rotocast seat bases which will stand the test of time. You’ll also notice these seat bases are cut backwards to allow extra foot space. But don’t worry, the seats won’t flip you into the floor because each seat has a multi-function hinge to keep you safe!
For your captain, the oversized helm offers storage big enough for a cooler. The dash features wood-accented panels and a full gauge package. The helm chair has that high back we mentioned earlier plus flip-up armrests and also reclines so dad can catch that afternoon snooze.
And to top it off, all of our Sylvans include the full bluetooth stereo. You’ll be playing Little Big Town’s hit “Pontoon” all afternoon as you cruise.
