Official COVID-19 Thread – Protecting You and Our Team

Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee governors have recently updated their guidelines to close non-essential retail businesses in response to COVID-19 and slowing the curve.  As a result Skier’s Marine has made changes to our operations outlines below:

  • All sales centers and pro shops are moving to an appointment-only model.  Our sales team is still extremely busy and families are looking to boating for an outlet that is still safe.  If you would like one of our sales team members to bring a boat to your house or set you up with a private showing please call 205.235.9999.
  • All service centers are still working at full speed to ensure your boat is ready when you are ready for it.  When you are ready to pick up your boat it will be in a designated area cleaned and ready.  All payments will be made via phone before pickup to limit clients from having to enter any of our offices.
  • All team members who can work from home are and our sales team is alternating days in the office to limit the number of people in an office at any one point in time.

Like all of you, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 and the impact it is having on everyone around the world.  Our thoughts and prayers are with anyone and everyone who has been affected.  We understand most of you are feeling the impacts of COVID-19 (toilet paper anyone) and the uncertainty it has caused.  

At Skier’s Marine, we exist to serve our clients in their pursuit of creating lifelong memories through quality time spent on the water, enjoying watersports activities.  As of today, all Skier’s Marine locations are remaining open and working hard to ensure we have your boat ready for the warm weather.  While we are still working, we are taking extra precautions to ensure our teams and your safety from COVID-19.  

Safety Measures in the Office

First, all locations are being disinfected thoroughly at the end of each day and throughout the day with Lysol and other cleaners, including all common areas, offices, doors, bathrooms, trucks, and work stations.  We are also following the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing and have canceled all department and group meetings opting to move them online.  We have also canceled all travel for the next three weeks.  

Second, we have instructed all team members at high risk to take mandatory time off as well as anyone who has potentially been exposed to the virus.  

Third, if you visit our dealership, we do not have to shake hands; we will keep working on those awkward “air knuckles” and “air high fives” while greeting you with a smile! 

Safety Measures for Demos

Our sales team has numerous demos setup for the coming weeks, and we take your safety on these demos seriously.  For that reason, all boats and trucks will receive thorough cleanings before all demos.  We also ask that you limit your party to 2-3 people to reduce the risk of exposure.  

We are also offering at-home demonstrations to help limit travel.  Let us bring the boat you are interested in for a personal home presentation.  

During this time, we are also happy to provide virtual tours of boats upon request via Facetime and Hangouts if you do not feel comfortable coming into the dealership, meeting on the water, or meeting at your home.  

We are very thankful for all of you and your support of Skier’s Marine.  The COVID-19 virus is a rapidly changing situation.  We will continue to update our policies to protect our team members and clients by following the CDC’s best practices in support of our local communities.

Our team will be praying for all of your health and safety and a quick resolution to this pandemic.
